Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside

When my husband and I decided to have our ceremony and reception at the Radisson we were thrilled because they appeared to have everything we wanted. Even there reviews were all positive. We began our wedding planning with the Radisson last December with Amanda Weaver, our assigned wedding specialist. Things were going great until 4 months before our wedding the other wedding planner left leaving our wedding planner to take on all of her weddings as well as her own. Amanda Weaver did an amazing job with balancing the work of 2 wedding planners all on her own. 2 weeks before our wedding at the end of August and their busy wedding season, the Radisson fired Amanda without notice leaving us without a wedding planner. Obviously this caused us to be extremely overwhelmed and stressed out. The Radisson never even called my husband or I to let us know we would be getting a new wedding planner 2 weeks before our wedding. They had no consideration with how this would effect our day. Due to their lack of organization our Wedding Day was very unorganized and stressful. Simple service items were not fullfilled as well as some details and decorations that were clearly listed on our contract. In the days before we were given 2 different bills that replected different prices and needed to be fixed 3x, Our aisle runner was not rolled down and pinned as promised, pillars we not set up for the ceremony with candles, my husbands grandmother received her corsage during cocktail hour after the ceremony, the bridal party was not given horderves or drinks after returning from pictures as promised, there was NO white glove service or a salad parade as promised, they served our parents last and ran out of rolls for our guests during dinner, when glass broke on the dance floor there was no staff in site to help clean it up so my guests were cleaning it, We had no wedding planner running our wedding because she left during dinner. OUr cookies and cream puffs were not brought out to be served on time. My mother was walking around with cream puffs serving our guests because they remembered to bring them out with 25 minutes remaining in our reception. When my mom went to pick the cookies and cream puffs up the next day they said they couldn't find them and she had to wait an hour until they finally located them after having to watch their security footage. We are missing decorations that were supposed to be returned to us after the reception that the staff "misplaced" . We were also told that we would receive a little of every dessert and late night snack up in our suite after the reception but we did not. I could go on and on. The Radisson dropped the ball big time leaving us with a bad taste in our mouths. When we set up a meeting with the GM after returning from our honeymoon he told us that the money we paid basically goes towards food and drink so the service issues don't warrant us a refund. This is unacceptable!! SO beware that the large amount of money you are spending at the Radisson is going towards food and drink ONLY apparently and not for a service or experience as promised on their website and by their staff. I have never wrote a review or complained about service ever before but I am so appalled that I want other young couples to be aware of the misleading information that we were given. My husband and I were given about 65% of what we paid for and were promised and we want the 35% back that we did not receive. I bet if we paid only 70% of our bill they would be coming after us for the 30%. It has been 3 weeks since we voiced our concerns and the Radisson has still not resolved this issue. Our wedding day cannot be recreated and we will have to live with the mistakes that were made by the Radisson. The least they can do is reimburse us for the portion they did not deliver and take responsibility.

We chose the Radisson Rochester Riverside for our wedding venue (both our ceremony and reception were held there) because of all of the wonderful reviews we read, the value compared to other local venues, and the fact that we wanted to have our wedding at a hotel for a convenience to our out-of-town guests. We loved our wedding planner, Amanda S. She was friendly and professional. A couple months before the wedding, we found out that Amanda would be moving to Florida. Stressful, right? We began working with Serena, the catering director for the Radisson. It was difficult putting our trust in someone else after working with a specific wedding planner for so long, but as the catering director, there honestly wasn’t a better person we could be paired up with. We were given another wedding planner along the way -- I honestly do not remember her name -- but she quit only a few weeks after we started working with her. Through the end, we worked solely with Serena… thank goodness! At our final meeting a week before the wedding, we found out that we wouldn’t meet the minimum food and beverage requirement, so Serena was very helpful in allowing us to pick additions to the reception so the money wouldn’t go to waste (there were menus full of different items - we chose a martini bar, garbage plate station, and miniature desserts to go along with our cake.) Our actual wedding day went very smoothly. The wedding suite was HUGE and the perfect place for the bridal party to get ready before the wedding. I personally didn’t enjoy that there was another wedding going on at the same time in a different ballroom in the hotel, but there’s nothing that you can really do about that – just focus on your own! Our maître d' was wonderful - attentive and always looking out for our needs. The food was OUTSTANDING; I have people to this day telling me how much they loved it! We asked to use a buffet service instead of served dinner, and that was totally the way to go. The only thing we really didn’t like was how fast the head table was cleared throughout the night; we had cake set out for us, I had one bite and got up to dance, and by the time I got back, it was gone. Thankfully, we had plenty of leftover cake, desserts, champagne and strawberries, as well as sandwiches waiting for us in our wedding suite after the wedding. We hope that future couples do not have the problems we did going through multiple wedding planners; other than that, we would DEFINITELY recommend the Radisson!

We love it they made sure we was ok and word can't say we came a long way with them and want to say thank you Amanda Weaver and staff cause with out them and are wedding planner, we wouldn't have a wedding to enjoy wiht family.

My wedding reception was at the Radisson Riverside last month and I could not have asked for a more perfect reception. Amanda Weaver was our wedding coordinator and she went above and beyond to make our reception amazing. I had a very specific look I wanted and was very nervous how it would turn out, and Amanda understood and made the room look better than I could have imagined. All 200+ guests raved about the food, the service, the room and said the had never been to a more fun reception. Thank you SO so much for all you did to make my reception a dream come true!!

Amanda W. was AMAZING!! She was more of an actual friend than a coordinator. She made my husband and I feel comfortable from the first meeting. She made sure everything was perfect. All of our guest raved about the food and drinks. We even had a garabage plate station!! All of our guest were thanking us for holding our wedding at the Radisson. Perfect place to hold your wedding!!

We had our daughter's wedding July 16, 2011. Serena Harrington made this porton of my daughter's wedding come true. Even though Amanda Weaver had a wedding she was working with the same evening, she let us know she would pop in periodically to see how things were going. The servers were very friendly. They brought the food out quickly, the food was excellent and they made sure everyone was taken care of. The room was beautiful. We also had a brunch the following morning and again, the staff did an excellent job. I would highly recommend the Radisson for your next wedding. Thank you Serena, Amanda and the entire staff! We had both our wedding and reception at the Radisson. The ceremony was in the Anthony ballroom. We were very happy with how the room was transformed into an intimate setting for our family and friends to witness our joining in love. The reception was held in the breathtakingly gorgeous Riverview ballroom and lounge. One entire wall is windowed and overlooks the Genesee River; all of our guests raved about the beautiful view of the sunset and nighttime city lights. In addition to the wonderful ambiance, the food was delicious and the service was expedient and unobtrusive. Every thing went off without a hitch and spent our first night as Mr. & Mrs. in a complimentary presidential suite! We had the pleasure of working with Amanda Weaver as our wedding coordinator. She is truly amazing at what she does. She has a great personality and made planning our day so much fun! I am a very detail oriented person and she was just as attentive to the details as I was. This made me feel comfortable that we were in good hands. I was especially picky when it came to our high-maintenance centerpieces. We had two different types, one of them involving live fish! Amanda took it upon herself to make sure that everything was assembled and set up exactly how I wanted them. Amanda is a professional in every sense of the word and went above and beyond all our expectations. Our whole day would not have been possible without Amanda; with her help, we were able to have the wedding of our dreams with only four months planning time, all the while living in Albany!

Amanda W., Serena H., and the entire Rochester Radisson Riverside staff went above and beyond our greatest expectation to make sure that our special day was just as perfect as we had dreamed of. We had originally booked our reception with a different venue, but quickly changed our mind when we saw this place. The elegant decor, the great location, wonderful food and the exceptional staff all added up to a perfect wedding day. We received many comments that the food was THE BEST wedding food that people had ever had. Amanda W. was there to help us with any questions we had, and she acted almost as a personal wedding coordinator. She even lost her fellow wedding planner about a month before our wedding, and we never felt slighted in the least with her added work load. She is a professional in every sense of the word, and we would recommend the Radisson to any and every one who wants a dream wedding in the Rochester area! The Radisson Rochester Riverside was a beautiful setting for our reception. from the awesome river-view room we had to the unbelievable pictures we took on the property outside. the staff was very helpful and professional, it was definitely a great experience!!

I had my wedding here on May 7th, 2011 and I couldn't be happier. Amanda Weaver did such an amazing job as my wedding coordinator. I never wanted for anything and she made sure that everything was done to the standards that I wanted. The whole staff was incredible and every part of my day was perfect; the food was amazing and there was a lot of it! Where else can you get a garbage plate station at 10pm?? It was incredible and everyone should be getting married here with Amanda there to make your day so fabulous!

We were married in February of 2011. Amanda Weaver was amazing. She helped make our wedding day perfect. She was able to answer every question we had and fixed anything we were concerned with. The only problem we had was there was a convention the same weekend as our wedding. We were promised that no kids would be on our floor and that it would be pilots and our guests only. There were children running up and down the hall at all hours of the night both the rehearsal night and the wedding night. Some of our guests complained about the noise. The elevators were also impossible to get on and we waited at least 10-15 minutes every time we needed to get on one. To say all that, I would recommend the Radisson to anyone who wants to have their wedding there. The room was perfect and Amanda Weaver will help you make your day the best.

We had my daughter's reception at the Radisson in January 2011, and it turned out wonderful. The wedding specialist we worked with was Amanda Weaver, and she did an excellent job, helping us plan the perfect evening, she was very flexible and responsive in accomodating all our requests and questions and was a pleasure to work with. We had the Riverside Ballroom for 200 guests, and it was decorated like a winter wonderland. The staff did a great job making it look just the way we wanted it to. The Sapphire package selections we chose for the sit down dinner were delicious. The cake was included in the package, from Sinful Bakery, and it was also delicious. We had a large number of guests stay overnight, the rooms were great, and we all had a nice buffet breakfast the morning after at Legends restaurant in the hotel. I would highly recommend the Radisson, it met or exceeded all our expectations!

Amanda was great. The communication between us and them was flawless. Any question or concern we had was addressed and answered within a short period of time. The reception was amazing, we even brought in some last minute decorations from the church service and the riverside staff was able to put them to use within the hour notice they had. The room was set up perfect, even throughout the reception, Amanda would come up to us to be sure everything was going well. The food was warm, and tasty!! Even for a 200 person sit down served dinner, I dont believe there were any mishaps. Everyone got what they ordered, and got it on time and warm. Well Done Radisson!!! and a HUGE THANK YOU to Amanda Weaver!!!!

My husband and I had our wedding here this December and were above amazed at what they did for us. From the initial planning to the final day, our wedding coordinator at the Radisson Inn (Amanda W) satisfied our every need. We never felt limited or guilty about changing our minds or asking for different requests because they were willing to do whatever it took to really make our wedding memorable. There was never a time I felt that she didn't have EVERYTHING under control (which is a relief because there are sooo many things the bride and groom have going on). The room was prepared to our every desire (incredibly romantic!). Our guests kept raving about how delicious the food was....they have top rated chefs! Our honeymoon suite....romance in every respect. At the end of our event, we actually felt sad about ending our great relationship with the Radisson. This was a great choice!

I held my wedding ceremony and reception at the Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside on December 11, 2010 and had a wonderful experience. Both Amanda W and Amanda S went above and beyond my expectations and requests to ensure that my day flowed well and everything was perfect - from organizing a food tasting, promptly replying to all emails and phone calls, arranging a suite for my bridal party and myself to stay in the night before, and to decorating and setting up the day-of. They helped me with everything and made my whole wedding experience low-stress and positive. (Which was a difficult task because I was engaged for only two months!) One specific example of their professionalism and flexibility was how they dealt with a slight problem of my wedding cake. The bakery which was originally supplying the cake ended up not being able to because of financial issues. Rather than drawing my attention to the matter the night before my wedding, they talked to my fiance about it, and had already found another baker and made sure my ribbon, flowers, and cake-topper made it onto the cake - exactly as it had been agreed upon with the original bakery! (My husband told me about it later) I would definitely recommend them and their services to any of my friends and family! (In fact, my husband's cousin is having their wedding there in April)

We are absolutely THRILLED that we decided to have our reception at the Radisson. Amanda Weaver was amazing and made sure our day was perfect. We are very happy with everything they provided.

I don't think any other venue could've offered us the total package that the Radisson Riverview did. We also started our planning with the awful coordinator that some reviews have mentioned and we were thrilled when Amanda Weaver came on board to save our reception and make us feel so much better! The team they have is professional, knowledgable, friendly and much more...they go above and beyond what anyone would expect to make sure your day is perfect. I will definitely recommend the Radisson to other couples for the food, the staff, the appearance, the professionalism and so on. Thanks, Amanda!

Riverside Radisson were available when we needed them. Nothing that we asked was out of reach. Amanda W. was pleasent to work with, she was able to make what seemed to be difficult work at the last miniute with professionalism and kindness. Our overall experience was fantastic! We have already reccommended Riverside Radission to a few other couples! Thank you so much for helping make our day so perfect!

Amanda Weaver at The Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside was consistently flexible, accommodating, organized, and complete. We enjoyed every last second of our ceremony and reception only because of Amanda and her team's efforts. Everything we wanted, we got! We will highly recommend The Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside to every bride/groom we meet!

My husband and I live in Florida so needless to say wedding planning out of state is a bit harder. However, Amanda Weaver was such a tremendous help to us. Whenever I had a question or needed a recommendation for a vendor she replied right away. Our guests had an awesome time. Every commented on the food as well as the view from the Riverview Ball Room. The staff was courteous and attentive throughout the entire evening. I would definitely recommend The Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside for a wedding venue.
